Var Inland

The Var is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Here you will find the combination of beautiful landscapes with both mountains and the sea. The Var is known for its beautiful sandy beaches, charming towns, and beautiful natural areas, as well as for Provencal life.

It is very centrally located, just 1 hour from Marseille and Toulon airports. There are also many train stations, including the TGV in Les Arcs. Via the A8 motorway, you can go in any direction, to the mountains for skiing, to the beautiful sandy beaches and coves between Toulon and Fréjus, or inland with its beautiful authentic villages and magnificent natural areas. In the hinterland of Saint-Tropez, you will find beautiful picturesque villages with their Provencal charm. Lorgues with its largest Provencal market, charming restaurants.

Cotignac, where it's nice to stroll, charming restaurants, and the special caves. Le Thoronet with its beautiful Abbaye du Thoronet, monastery. There is also a hidden monastery in the heart of the Massif de Maures in Collobrières, Monastery Notre-Dame de Clémence de La Verne dating from 1792, which is really worth a visit and it is also recommended to eat a chestnut ice cream in the next village and to take some candied chestnuts which are artisanally made there and for which the village is also known.

There are large beautiful forests in the Var with its special pine trees, chestnut trees, cork oaks, holm oaks, and where you can encounter protected turtles. One of these beautiful natural areas is the Massif de Maures, located between Hyères and Fréjus. 60 km of protected natural area where you can hike, horseback ride, mountain bike, hike, and enjoy special flora and fauna.

There are also important ports, the port of Toulon, St Tropez, La Londe-les-Maures, Saint-Raphaël. On the cultural level, there is a lot to do, there are village festivals everywhere, music in the vineyards, performances...

And of course, there are many vineyards to visit where you can taste and buy delicious wines. Some also have a delicious restaurant like the beautiful and romantic Château Saint Roux in Le Cannet des Maures, the beautiful and modern Ultimate Provence (UP) in La Garde-Freinet, Château de Berne in Lorgues...
